In depth

Verdict

Sea Eagle is preferred to Fire And Rain, Iron Hague and Sea Mizzen. Captain Forster saddled plenty a winner here in his time and his former pupil is no different. Fourteen winners with a 26 per cent strike rate and a level stakes profit in excess of ¿60 over the last five seasons makes compelling reading but even more so when you note that ten of those wins have come over hurdles. Sea Eagle has leading form claims and shouldn't be opposed lightly. Interest in Sea Mizzen would be worth noting as Christian Williams has a good strike rate over timber for a respected yard whilst similar confidence behind the chances of former Ballydoyle inmate Fire And Rain would also look significant. Iron Hague is another ex-Irish runner of note and he didn't run too badly last time but he has, in general, been a shade disappointing and we'll take Sea Eagle to swoop.
