In depth

Verdict

Nothing rock solid here however SIR PETER stays well and he is preferred to Omix D'Or and Tuskar Rock. Henry Daly's gelding was a tad disappointing last time out at Warwick but he has threatened to win this season and the handicapper has been kind enough to drop him 10lbs over the last 13 months. He is a course winner, has no problem with staying races in the mud and is fancied to run a big race. It's A Discovery was still in with a chance when departing in a decent Market Rasen chase last time out and is interesting off a mark of 99, Tuskar Rock has plenty of weight to carry but he looks to be getting the hang of things over fences and stamina shouldn't be a problem, whilst Omix D'Or sauntered home last time out and a 5lb rise in the weights might underestimate him although he needs to prove it was no fluke. Simply Smashing's best recent form has come on much better ground, whilst Gift Of The Gods shaped well behind Ponchatrain last time out but his record is inconsistent. A tight handicap to assess, but we are happy to side with Sir Peter.
