    Verdict

Winning pointer Roi De Garde got off the mark in convincing fashion under Rules at Market Rasen 11 days ago under amateur Matthew Stanley. But the six-year-old is 17lb higher here and needs to improve again to follow up. Referent wasn't disgraced at Hereford after scoring at Newton Abbot and Like Ice was third back over fences at Plumpton, though was beaten by Or Sing About at that track around this time last year. Craiglands is undoubtedly well treated and should be thereabouts again but has been expensive to follow down the years and, along with Witch's Hat, was no match for JOLLY BOYS OUTING over C&D in March. Rosemary Gasson's charge is 11lb higher now but has since run a cracker over 3m6f at Exeter and the form of that race has worked out well - he looks the one to beat.
