    Verdict

A moderate looking affair in which the market should provide the best clues. Breknen Le Noir has been an expensive failure for his backers on two occasions and he is reluctantly recommended in an attempt to make it third time lucky. He should have few problems in the ground given his experiences in France. The chief danger is Sword Lady. This course and distance winner took a race in which no fewer than twelve of the sixteen starters failed to finish. Shady Anne is dropped in trip and class after struggling against better opposition. Apollo Victoria once raced in the Irish Champion Stakes for Aidan O'Brien. He was pacemaker to the great Giant's Causeway on that occasion and makes a belated transition to hurdling for the shrewd Brendan Powell. Harley is watched in the market for Pam Sly. Breknen Le Noir is given the nod albeit with some reservations.
