Verdict

The market should be a valuable guide to punters in a contest primarily concerned with point-to-pointers and those yet to show any discernible level of real form on Turf. Delgany Devil is certainly one to keep an eye on for a Flat yard fielding their first-ever bumper runner with the talented Charlie Deutsch claiming a valuable 7lb, whilst the best bumper form is that of Aces Over Eights, a close-up fourth on his debut at Chepstow, a performance that places him right in the mix. Cloughernagh Boy is an interesting recruit from the pointing arena for the Pipe team but Harry Fry has an excellent record in such contests so his recent point-to-point winner VIVANT POEME is the choice, especially with the yard having booked AP McCoy for the ride.
