In depth

Verdict

This looks a pretty modest affair and as the experienced horses have shown very little we will give the vote to Colin Tinkler's debutante Musical Chord, with Boysterous and Allez Melina put forward as the main dangers. The selection cost 36 thousand euros as a four-year-old and is related to some good performers including winning hurdler Minella Gold. Unless the market tells you otherwise he looks the one to beat. Boysterous has had just one outing, showing a fair bit of promise when sixth behind Sunley Shines at Taunton. He will improve for that effort and should be capable of reaching the frame. However Allez Melina looks the main threat to the selection having finished a decent fourth behind Granny Shona over course and distance. With improvement assured she should be the one to benefit if Musical Chord is not match fit. The others make very little appeal and with the proviso to check out the betting, Musical Chord gets the vote.
