In depth

Verdict

Silver Fox looked a likely future winner when placed at Fairyhouse and Down Royal and was backed accordingly here last month but pulled a shoe and finished lame. LUGNAQUILLA was also a beaten favourite last time at Killarney but didn't get the run of the race before finishing strongly. She'll be ideally suited by the longer trip and can go one better. Ciel D'afrique has been unfortunate to come up against a couple of decent winners the last twice and looks certain to give a good account while Watchmen found 1m2f too short at Cork after a very good second over the track and trip. Palm Beach looks Aidan O'Brien's second string but the son of Galileo is one to note on his belated debut.
