In depth

Verdict

Pierlow had only showed modest form before scoring over 2m5f at Clonmel where he battled back after being headed on the run-in. He's only five and there's more to come with this longer trip likely to suit. PUMPED UP KICKS has won two point-to-points but fell when sent to compete over fences at Perth early last month. He showed that he was none the worse for the experience when scoring easily there the next day and he's effectively lower in the weights here so has to be the choice. Boland's Corner doesn't win very often but has now dropped to a mark that enables him to compete in this moderate grade so should be kept on the right side. Sarah Battle landed a Limerick handicap over this trip in April though potential punters would need to forgive a poor effort at Roscommon last month.
