In depth

Verdict

After comfortably landing a Ballinrobe bumper in April, SIR ABBOT was well supported over timber at Killarney the following month but could only stay on at one pace after holding every chance. He has a penalty to carry and looks vulnerable but the lack of decent opposition suggests he can gain his first success over hurdles. Fruits Of Molly's close second to Shield at Cork in May was a cracking effort but he hasn't run so well in subsequent starts and jumped moderately when well beaten at the Galway Festival. Several of these have scored between the flags including Spancil Hill, who can get into the act while Whatsforuwontgobyu is probably capable of better and Catalaunian Fields is worth watching for the future.
