Verdict

Marshim is rapidly approaching his 15th birthday but has been running very well and even a 4lb rise for a fine run in a big field at Listowel in June shouldn't prevent another solid effort. The lightly-raced Saval Park has plenty of weight but also has some scope and is expected to do better this season while Varene De Vauzelle ran his best race to date in first-time headgear at Navan and a similar run would definitely put him into contention. TRISTRAM SHANDY (NAP) is the only course and distance winner in the line-up having beaten Naughty Molly narrowly in July. He's done much better than the runner-up subsequently and, with Ruby Walsh booked, can return to winning ways. Leader's Choice stepped up to this trip for the first time over hurdles in a Listowel maiden and looks a certain future winner.
