Verdict

Lieutenant Colonel won two Grade 1 races over timber three years ago but his only subsequent victory was over fences at Gowran at this time last year. He looked well-in for his reappearance over fences at Limerick earlier this month but disappointed. MONKSLAND reverted to hurdling last season and ended the campaign with two fine runs behind Supasundae, the latest in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham. He's won first-time on several occasions so the lack of a run shouldn't prove insurmountable. Montys Meadow is a useful chaser though hasn't run over timber for a long time but Oscar Sam has won five times over hurdles and would have a chance if ready after a break.
