Verdict

UNCLE JUNIOR was returning from a 777-day break when chasing home Wise Old Owl over 2m6f at Listowel in September when the rest were well beaten off. The winner of two point-to-points and three hurdles, he will have come on for that run and though it's a surprise to see him dropping back in trip he should prove too good for these rivals. Le Reveur scored over timber at Clonmel last month but was never in contention on his chasing debut at Limerick last week and may need more experience. Gentle Alice soon departed on her chasing bow at Cork but this winning point-to-pointer, who landed the maiden hurdle at this meeting a year ago, is the type to do better when getting her act together as is Western Charmer, a very useful hurdler who ran poorly on both starts over fences early this year. Maryriver, a winner between the flags and of a maiden hurdle at Tramore, makes her debut over the bigger obstacles and is one to note for the future.
