Verdict

BALNASLOW only scored once over hurdles but showed that chasing would be his game when a fine second to the promising Art Of Logistics on his debut over the bigger obstacles at Gowran. He'll improve for that experience and can see off the attentions of Castle Wings, who started off well over fences but hasn't progressed as expected. Hunting Party, a progressive hurdler in the spring, will have found the ground much too fast on his chasing bow at Roscommon and should soon leave that form well behind. Call Rog won a very competitive novices handicap over hurdles at Fairyhouse in March and with his pedigree suggesting he'll do better chasing he's one to keep an eye on.
