In depth

Verdict

Aerlite Supreme had a breathing operation during the summer and gained his first success on heavy ground over the minimum trip at Galway last month. He improved to run the well supported Alechi Inois close over an extra half-mile at Fairyhouse and this longer trip will suit. The winner's trainer Willie Mullins complicates matters by saddling Perfect Gentleman, who looks a fine staying chaser in the making, and DEVILS BRIDE, who was due to appear at Fairyhouse yesterday but was pulled out. The latter gets the vote as he looked a very bright prospect when defying several mistakes to win easily at Limerick last month on his hurdling debut. Gallant Tipp has massive potential and had Tuesday's easy Wexford winner Wilde Sapphire in second when scoring at Clonmel and Doesheeverstop showed that staying is his game at Down Royal. The youngster Rightdownthemiddle is another staying type who will jump fences soon while the tough and consistent Some Officer can never be ruled out.
