Verdict

MASTERPAVER has proved a good servant to the Fahey team, although his prime form has been achieved on the all-weather where he's rated 7lb higher than on Turf. However, he was a fair fourth in the hotly-contested Queen Mother's Cup at York on Saturday when only a couple of lengths off the winner. If that effort has not taken its toll, he should go close here under identical conditions. Carthage is weighted to go well at his best and Under Attack remains unexposed but that is also the case with New World Power and the latter looks the main threat on the back of a solid reappearance when beaten under two lengths at Doncaster. With only four runs under his belt in three seasons, he looks a sure-fire improver off his current mark.
