In depth

Verdict

The doubly-penalised Pertemps Bianca sets the standard the others have to aim at in the opener at Thirsk. Bought out of a Doncaster seller, the daughter of Dancing Spree made a winning debut for Karl Burke at Newcastle at the beginning of the month and will try and make her fitness tell. All-weather winners Dusty Dazzler and Genteel are yet to prove they are as effective on turf and a bigger danger to the likely favourite may be Tim Easterby's Boavista. The stable's two-year-old runners have started in reasonable form and this sister to the useful Tara's Girl is bred to be suited by sprint trips.
