In depth

Verdict

The Tim Easterby-trained Grandad Bill is selected over Thornton Princess out of those with experience, while River Lena is an interesting newcomer to take note of in the betting market. The last named hails from the Mark Johnston yard and is bred to at least be effective at this trip. Slightly further will not go amiss in due course but she does look one to keep on the right side of if there is confidence behind her chance today. Thronton Princess was highly tried last time and was found out in Listed company. This is a significant ease in grade but she already has improvement to find. Therefore, we prefer to stick with Grandad Bill, who looks to be progressing nicely and, with the step up in trip sure to suit, a bold bid is anticipated.
