    Verdict

WALPOLE has been off the track for a while but that looks a good thing in his case. A bumper winner on last year’s racecourse debut, he made a winning start on the all-weather in February and then landed a handicap at Windsor in May. Placed in a higher grade at York last time, there looks more to come from Hugo Palmer’s charge. Carthage landed a Class 5 contest over track and trip last month while Tamayuz Magic went close under today’s apprentice at Carlisle recently. A winner at Doncaster earlier this year, Odeon is only 2lb higher and not out of this but Min Alemarat and Only Orsenfoolsies remain resolutely out of sorts.
