In depth

Verdict

The superbly bred Elerfaan made a belated debut after changing stables at Wetherby in April then won very convincingly at Beverley. There's more to come and he can ensure the younger generation don't have it there own way. Borodin was over 6l behind in that Beverley race but showed the benefit of the run with a comfortable victory in a similar race over 7f here. He'll also improve and should get closer but New Show, a debut winner at Ayr last July, is best watched after a poor run in a Newmarket Listed contest in April. HISTORY WRITER has run well in all three starts without winning including at Nottingham last time where a slow gallop didn't suit. He'll be very difficult to keep out of the frame so looks the one to be on.
