MODUS, placed in the championship bumpers at Cheltenham and Punchestown, made a successful debut over timber here last month and though only scrambling home at Newbury won with a bit more in hand than the official distance suggests. He has a double penalty to contend with and has to concede 10lb to the year younger Board Of Trade, which won't be easy as the dual bumper winner has looked in need of hurdling experience on his two starts to date. Miles To Milan was around 9l behind the selection here last month but that was his racecourse debut and with a big pull in the weights has every chance of getting much closer. Bim Bam Boum has looked in need of this sort of trip in both starts over timber and has plenty of scope as has Coeur Tantre, who caught the eye on his debut at Tramore on ground much to fast.
