Verdict

The step up in trip here looks ideal for ENROBLIM TROP, who can provide the Tizzards with a winner at the main expense of Iris's Prince and Shake The Barley. The slight concern for the selection is that Colin Tizzard has not had a winner in the past fortnight at the time of writing, but the horse itself was in fine form when scoring on soft ground over 2m 5f at Folkestone last time. He is raised 5lb for that win here, but if he jumps as well as he did there then this extra two furlongs will be right up his street and he can follow up. Iris's Prince is 4lb higher than when runner-up over course and distance last time out, and cut in the ground should not be a major problem. His problem is that he keeps finding one too good and the same fate probably awaits today. Shake The Barley was a very easy Lingfield chase winner last month, before a 12lb rise found him out at Towcester. He clearly has ability and is not one to discount based on that latest start as Towcester may not have suited him. Alcatras likes it here and goes on any ground, plus he is full of confidence after a Wincanton win on Boxing Day so you'd have to give him a squeak, but we prefer the claims of Enroblim Trop.
