In depth

Verdict

Paul Nicholls has his string in good form at present and it is hard to get away from his representative My Condor, who gets the vote ahead of Basic Fact and Iron Maid. The selection made a highly encouraging reappearance when chasing home Bouncy Castle in a Hereford bumper and he has an obvious chance, provided that he takes to hurdles. Wincanton winner She's Our Daisy was well held back at the same venue last time and looks up against it here, while Cornish Orchid has shown only a modicum of ability so far. Jonjo O'Neill's Basic Fact made an encouraging start to his hurdling career at Plumpton recently and makes more appeal than Oliver Sherwood's mare Iron Maid. There is not a great deal for backers to go on here but My Condor has an obvious chance on his hurdling debut and he is the selection.
