Verdict

GULLIBLE GORDON is no cast-iron certainty but he is the one they have to beat and is nominated ahead of Cast Cada. Paul Nicholls' gelding was a winner here two starts back when he stayed on too strongly for Kayf Aramis. That horse has franked the form by winning twice since and although he was disappointing in a Grade Two next time up at Doncaster, it would be a surprise were the selection not to grace the winners' enclosure once again now back in grade. Cast Cada is the obvious one for the forecast link. His trainer remains in good form and Jason Maguire looks an interesting jockey booking. The form of his 3rd to Gypsy George at Uttoxeter back in November sets him apart here as the main danger. Daison has shown nothing and his form resembles the start of a Humpty Dumpty convention, whilst Indian Doctor's is more useful for Scrabble and rearranging some of those letters describes his form so far. Another Display was well-held recently behind a stablemate of the selection and will perhaps be of more interest here as he steps up in trip, however he may be more one for handicaps, and so it is Gullible Gordon who is selected.
