    Verdict

It's too early to draw stumps on Cricket Boy but Romney Marsh and BAN UISCE have more solid claims and the latter is preferred. Cricket Boy will always attract attention due to his dam but he's shown little signs of following in her illustrious footsteps although it's well worth noting that he was sent off a short-priced favourite for his handicap debut in December. He has been given a break since disappointing and reappears in different headgear and may yet deliver but he's clearly a risky proposition. Go Johnny Go is also a risky proposition but he may, one day, be able to take advantage of his declining mark while Ron Hodges has his team in top form and saddles Posh Emily and Compton Star. Romney Marsh has won two of her last three starts and may have found the company a bit too hot at Huntingdon in between and she has to be feared as she bids to defy a penalty as she should get the run of the race out in front. That is a concern for our selection who is usually held up and may ideally prefer a stiffer test but Neil Mulholland's gelding faces a less-exacting task than he did at Lingfield. We wouldn't want to see Ban Uisce get too far behind but he's got a talented lad in the plate and shapes as though he's got more to offer.
