In depth

Verdict

Nothing stands out in this modest race but something has to win it and the pin comes down on COMPTON STAR who has plenty in his favour. The ground should be ideal for Ron Hodges' gelding, and whilst he is yet to win over this trip before he does see it out ok. A winner at the track in the past, he is not badly treated off a mark of 85 and could go in. Mr Parson is yet to win but he has shown ability before, although this trip doesn't appear to be the way forward. Killing Me Softly knows how to win but those victories have come over hurdles, whilst Kinkeel should not be totally overlooked off such a lowly mark. A weak race, where the market may be the best indicator, but preference is for Compton Star.
