In depth

Verdict

SUNWISE is a potentially smart recruit to the winter game and can get his jumping career off to the perfect start ahead of Clouseau and I'm In The Pink. Our selection makes his debut for Paul Nicholls' having reached a rating of 95 on the flat for John Oxx. That level of ability could see him home a comfortable winner if he jumps proficiently and copes with the softest ground he's encountered. On breeding he certainly should be at home on soft ground and we can be confident the master trainer has schooled his horse intensely, so providing he's relatively solid in the market a winning show can be expected. Clouseau holds I'm In The Pink on their meeting last time and that form should be upheld. Nick Williams is doing well with a relatively small string and this one should pick up a race along the line. The form he showed when fifth to a Nicholls hot-pot last time reads well, although our feeling is this gelding will once again see the wrong end of a Paul Nicholls horse. Likewise, I'm In The Pink should pick up a race along the line but might just find this too much and he'll need to improve to reverse form with Clouseau. Of the remainder You're So Vain is likely to attract each way support. The Greatrex-runner should have learned plenty from his debut over obstacles and this bumper winner may benefit for dropping in trip. He's certainly of more interest than Lost Glory who qualifies for a handicap mark after this and may be seen to better effect in that sphere. Mossini displayed signs of awkwardness in two bumper starts and looks opposable until showing himself in a better light, so at prices perhaps Yonder merits each way support. The mare started favourite for a listed bumper back in 2008 so it's fair to say she's been disappointing, but this solid flat handicapper should be capable of a little improvement over hurdles and is a potential dark horse here. Kokkokila won over two miles on the flat so may need further than this and with Racingisdreaming having plenty of improvement to find this is best left to Sunwise, who could be an above-average recruit for his top yard.
