In depth

Verdict

Quid Pro Quo has slightly more experience than his main rival Lord Killeshanra and that should tilt things in his favour, with Allumee worth considering for a place. The first two mentioned can both boast fair enough form, with Lord Killeshanra catching the eye when second to Harris Bay on his debut at Ludlow last month. He stayed on well near the finish and will appreciate the extra furlong here. In addition, a good run by Harris Bay at Kempton on Monday would also advertise his claims. Quid Pro Quo is a brother to Luzcadou, so will no doubt be going chasing in due course. He made his debut at Aintree in November, finishing fourth in a decent enough bumper, and on the strength of that was sent off favourite at Exeter a fortnight ago. Unfortunately he came up against a potentially useful sort in Moonstream and had to settle for second. He will know more about the game now, and is taken to go one better. Miss Quickly disappointed when sent off a warm order on her Warwick introduction and is best watched, while Allumee comes from a stable in form and should improve for his Newbury debut when fifth to Red Ruffles. It should really boil down to a straight shoot-out between Lord Killeshanra and Quid Pro Quo, with the latter getting our vote.
