In depth

Verdict

This should concern recent winners Satshoon and Bosham Mill, with the latter just getting the vote. Bosham Mill was a useful stayer on the flat last season for Geoff Wragg, but rather lost his form later in the campaign. He will relish the fast ground and if he can jump more fluenty than when trotting up at Chepstow on his hurdling debut, then he should be god enough to follow up here. Satshoon comes from Paul Nicholls' Ditcheat yard, and after two well beaten odds-on favourites at Wetherby the other night, the yard may just have gone off the boil now. Nevertheless, we expect this 10-year-old to be the serious challenger to the selection after coming back to hurdles this year, following a loss of form over fences. He is unproven on fast ground. Pachinco has much more on his plate than when in the money at Cartmel the other day, while Tirikumba, from the small yard of Sirrell Griffiths is very interesting on his hurdling debut.
