Verdict

Plenty with decent claims in a competitive handicap. King Edmund is a tough sort who only found a well-handicapped rival too good at Fontwell last time. Ohio Gold finally got off the mark last season and is capable of further progress but Anquetta doesn't look the force of old. Wiffy Chatsby unseated Sam Twiston-Davies on his reappearance at Wincanton in a race in which Daymar Bay was a well-beaten fourth and might lack the experience for a race like this. Renard was taking on better opposition last season but, like Noble Legend, might need the run. BERTIE BORU also returns from a break but goes well fresh and is only 3lb higher than when winning at Wincanton in January. If his jumping holds up, he could go close here at decent odds.
