In depth

Verdict

Zama Zama is not without his quirks and Evan Williams' eight-year-old is capable of following up if the visor works for a second time. Goldie Horn has been dropped significantly in the weights after a series of modest efforts over the larger obstacles so we will stick with the proven form of MR MAFIA (NAP). Tony Carroll's gelding was a convincing winner at Uttoxeter earlier in the month and the betting suggested that such an outcome was not entirely unexpected. Faustina Pius continues to search for an elusive first victory. Matt Sheppard's mare appeared likely to break her duck at Newton Abbot before coming to grief with the race at her mercy. Separate Shadows makes a chasing debut having disappointed over hurdles at Perth.
