    Verdict

An uninspiring contest which will take little winning. Abbey Days is from a shrewd yard and deserves plenty of respect. The six-year-old had run well for a long way and was still in second place when departing at Hereford on his debut over hurdles. Quedex is exposed, but he will have no better chance to lose his maiden tag. He probably turned in his best effort over hurdles when beaten just over a length by Mounsey Castle, who has since followed up. Heartache is tried in cheekpieces for the first time and is open to some improvement, while the booking of Timmy Murphy catches the eye for hurdling debutante Simply Remy. Although Princess Claudia has finished close up in her two outings to date over timber, she has achieved little and it would be a surprise if she was good enough, even at this level.
