In depth

Verdict

Indian Sun can complete a hat-trick at the expense of Tidjani, Beausejour and Kali des Obeaux. Trainer Alison Thorpe has her small string in good form lately, with Indian Sun contributing to her haul on his first run for the stable. The seven-year-old, successful previously at Chepstow, made an immediate impact for new connections when holding on well under Richard Johnson at Newton Abbot. The step up in trip is just what he needs and Indian Sun lines up with a major chance. Tidjani was pulled up here last month but was only beaten close home at Chepstow the time before. Any significant rain would help his cause. Beausejour has only won once in his career and has gone up the weights since that Warwick success, so a place is the best that he can hope for, while Kali Des Obeaux, a winner twice over fences in France has not impressed a great deal but was fancied when beaten at Lingfield two weeks ago. Basically, it appears that Indian Sun's connections have done their homework and he should take all the beating, especially with Sam Thomas taking three pounds off his back.
