In depth

Verdict

A trappy looking handicap to get things underway, and one that is sure to develop into a dour battle of strength and stamina. Supreme Quest has to be considered with Tony McCoy on board and he must go close granted a clear round. However, there has to be the possibility that he will run himself to a standstill if he tries to make all the running over this further than ideal trip, and the champion jockey will need to ensure his mount has a little in reserve. Fami and Kippanour make plenty of appeal from the bottom of the handicap, with the latter just preferred as the more proven stayer. Browjoshy is rated as a much better chaser and has been found a little tapped for toe after returning to hurdles last season.
