Verdict

AGENTE ROMANO is our call in a competitive opener that includes recent winners, Moment Present and Danetime Panther. Evan Williams' charge ran a creditable debut at Worcester and the formline was given a significant boost on Tuesday when that horse went on to score again. Moment Present has to concede two penalties having obliged twice at Huntingdon. His victory over Emerald Wilderness is one of the better lines of novice form this season. Danetime Panther was capable of handling some give in the ground when trained by Paul Cole. Nevertheless, that was an expensive failure recently at Southwell. Dream Of Fortune had ability on the level though the handicapper made life difficult for him. Civil Servant will be the benchmark that the handicapper will use for assessment purposes. Mister New York won four times on the level for Noel Chance and the Gold Cup winning handler switches his attentions to the winter game having seeming exhausted possibilities there. Sagunt should be fit from the flat and is watched in the market at the likely odds. A fair novice event for the time of year and Agente Romano warrants further investigation.
