Verdict

Ingratitude can give Nicky Henderson another juvenile winner at the expense of Leamington Lad, Malakiya and Time Out. Nicky Henderson also had Punjabi entered up here, but of course he put himself in the Triumph Hurdle picture earlier in the week at Ludlow and so does not qualify for today's event. That leaves Ingratitude who should prove something of an able deputy, having shaped very well on his timber bow at Newbury in December when fourth to Pancake, who subsequently ran well behind Katchit at Cheltenham. The selection was a place behind Scotland Yard at Newbury, and as the latter has since finished behind Punjabi, the Seven Barrows handler has a straightforward form line to work on. Leamington Lad is another with claims, having finished runner-up on each of his last two outings, and as he appeared to be a shade unlucky at Plumpton last time when short of room on the run-in, he will have his supporters no doubt. Malakiya was no great shakes on the Flat and needs to step up a gear, as does Time Out, although he should find a small race based on his Wincanton effort. Ingratitude has strong claims though and should be supported.
