Verdict

SENATUS, a bumper winner in 2016, paid his first visit here a week ago and impressed with a three-length victory over 1m4f, which would be his minimum trip. He has a 6lb penalty to contend with and this is a slightly better race but he still looks to have a bit in hand. The veteran Cousin Khee is only moderate but has been superbly placed to win 10 times and doesn't look finished yet judged on his second here last month and he's now on a fair mark. Brigadoon, well beaten when runner-up in this last year, has been looking a few pounds high since a very easy course and distance victory in March while Samtu, who completed a double on the track in March, was beaten a long way in a claimer here on New Year's Day.
