In depth

Verdict

Tokewanna deserves to get her head in front after some consistent efforts and gets the vote to do so ahead of Quiet Reading and Molinia. The last mentioned has been in good form of late but, following a reversal behind Waltzing Wizard over course and distance last time, may now be in the grip of the handicapper. His conqueror there has since been beaten in a banded stakes race so the form may not amount to a great deal. Martin Bosley's Quiet Reading bounced back to form when second in a lesser race here last time and has to be respected but Tokewanna will be tough to beat. The selection has run to her mark in her last three starts and looks well treated on form with Molinia at Wolverhampton last month. The lack of form here is of concern for backers of Tokewanna but she has solid claims at the weights and looks worth chancing. With David Barron's horses in such good from at present, Off Beat has to be respected while Louisiade is an interesting runner from the yard of Tim Easterby. Tokewanna has an obvious chance though and she gets the vote
