      Verdict

      Local Spirit ran promisingly on his debut at Wolverhampton in June but lack of a run since then has to be of concern for Clive Brittain's filly and a safer bet looks to be Snowy Day, with Pop Music rated the best of the remainder. The selection lost no caste in defeat when third behind Webbow on his debut over course and distance last month and granted normal improvement for that outing may be good enough to open his account today. Mind Out is little better than plating class on all known evidence, while Bare Rambler makes a belated debut and comes from a yard hardly known for their success with runners first time out. Pop Music has claims on the pick of his form but is becoming exposed and preference is for Snowy Day, who has an obvious chance.
