In depth

Verdict

Epitaph has only won twice in 40 starts, the latest in a Wolverhampton claimer last month. He ran poorly here last week and will need to bounce back as PURPLE ROCK has only been raised 3lb for an all-the-way victory over the course and distance a fortnight ago and looks the one to beat. Harbour Quay finished in front of Epitaph when runner-up last time and has the potential for further progress while Seasearch would have to be considered on his victory over 1m6f here early this month and he appeared to find 2m stretching his stamina last time. In his last nine starts, Handsome Bob has won three and finished last the same number of times.
