Verdict

Rouge Et Noir should take some stopping in the finale with Back To Favour and Gay Oscar nominated as the principle dangers. The selection ran well on his debut at Wetherby when second behind Scotch Corner before disappointing last time out on soft ground. He has conditions to suit here and with the booking of AP McCoy catching the eye he looks the one to be on. Back To Favour was a good second on his debut and is from a shrewd yard so is sure to come on from that experience and he looks to have decent place prospects. Gay Oscar has shown enough on his two runs in this sphere to suggest he could win a race of this nature, but he did not progress as much as expected from his debut and the suspicion is that he may find at least one too good. Of the remainder, Silver Enterprise is from a yard in form and is sure to progress from an encouraging debut, but in a race where the market may provide all the clues, we will side with Rouge Et Noir.
