In depth

Verdict

Makai looks the best option in a tricky contest, Katchit and Queen's Composer could be the main rivals. Mark Johnston hasn't been running too many on the all-weather recently so when he does they have to be respected. Makai is rated in the seventies following some promising efforts over the six furlong trip on turf. There is plenty of stamina in his pedigree and so this step up to a mile should suit. Katchit is also making his all-weather debut. He has also shown plenty of ability in maidens and if he acts on the surface will be a danger to all. Queen's Composer has finished runner up in his three races to date, including a race at Lingfield. He should be capable of picking up some more place money. Is It Me looks the pick of the others, but Makai looks set to go close over a more suitable trip and he gets our vote..
