    Verdict

This is a race that should take little winning and Dancing Pearl should prove capable of defying her penalty. The Cecil Price-trained mare confirmed previous promise to edge out a useful yardstick in similar company over course and distance in late January. The form looks solid with the front two pulling a long way clear of the third and the selection should prove too strong for some moderate rivals. Vitelucy showed plenty of resolution to lift a claimer on the all-weather last month but made little impact for present connections on her hurdling debut at Bangor. The daughter of Vettori needs to improve to figure while the ex-German-trained Atlantic Lady has proved disappointing on both British starts to date. Kansas City, who reverts to hurdling after a fair effort over fences when last seen in December, may prove best of the remainder.
