      Verdict

The John Hills-trained Turnberry has shaped as if a low-grade handicap like this is well within him and the son of Petardia is fancied to confirm the suspicion today at the main expense of Tonto and Abrogate - although Unprecedented is interesting on his debut in a race like this and is one to monitor in the betting. Not too many of the rest make any serious appeal but a case can be made for Jomus on a couple of bits of form and he could go well for each-way backers at a price. However, Turnberry has been staying on well in his last couple of outings and looks worth a small investment now that he is tried over a mile for only the second time in his career. The fact that he is making his debut at this course should be factored if taking the plunge with the selection, as he is obviously no world-beater. The same has to be said of the rest of the field though, and Turnberry's recent form in much better races gives him a good edge over Tonto here. Abrogate ran his best race for sometime behind Rare Coincidence last month and he could be the one to give Turnberry the most to do.
