In depth

Verdict

A modest affair in which Wodhill Gold, Paso Doble and Crusoe look the three to concentrate upon and we side with Wodhill Gold. The selection ran respectably in a recent banded stakes around here and the step back up to a mile should suit. The draw could have been better but he is at least in some semblance of form while others in this contest clearly are not. Paso Doble is a multiple winner around this circuit and should run his usual race. There are no secrets to him from a formbook perspective and he will be priced accordingly. Crusoe is not the easiest of rides and he remains capable at this level if consenting to obey his rider. Darryll Holland rates an interesting booking on Tuesday. Sonderborg has struggled since returning from long term absence and is best watched. For Life is a long time maiden and while she has it to do at the weights, the visor is removed. Great Chieftain has a major chance on BHB figures but a tendency to pull hard has often been his downfall. Formidable Will is better than his latest line of form suggests and he is watched in the market. A moderate race in all senses of the description and Wodhill Gold secures the vote.
