Verdict

Ashgar is not the easiest to predict and was disappointing last time but has been found another straightforward opportunity and should be able take advantage. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding was successful over this trip at Uttoxeter in May and a reproduction should suffice on these terms. Son Of Light met the selection on an off day when a narrow winner last time but is now 7lb worse off and looks opposable while Fountain Bank is streadily improving and scored on his latest start but that was a weak affair and he has something to find at the weights here.
