Verdict

These fences have played havoc with far better chasing prospects than this bunch and this is not a race to get too involved with. Sir Walter won a similarly low-key affair over hurdles at Warwick a couple of months ago and proved to be an adaptable character last term. If he can translate his form to fences he should go close; but any rain would be a big plus for him. Polish Pilot negotiated a safe round last time and should have learnt from the experience. The Norman Mason-trained Jamorin Dancer is another to consider following a respectable effort at Wetherby last time. But a minimum stakes approach is advised.
