Ginger Cookie looks the pick in this very modest event, Joe Jo Star and Star Cross Maid can also be expected to be go well. Bryan Smart's filly has shown improved form recently having been stepped up to seven furlongs. She stayed on well last time when second to Princess Arwen and so the mile trip today could bring out more progression. Starcross Maid has shown her best form at Wolverhampton, although she did show plenty of promise on her only outing here last month. The experience will not be lost on her and she should play a major role. Joe Jo Star is making his Southwell debut but has gone well at both Lingfield and Wolverhampton recently and must be considered for some place money. Polesworth does at least know how to win and could prove best of the others, but for thwe winner we return to Ginger Cookie.
