In depth

Verdict

Fancy Footings remains 6lb higher than when scoring over track and trip in November and has placed here subsequently. It remains to be seen how DIRECTORY (NAP) fares raised 4lb for last month’s course and distance success but he won with a bit in hand on that occasion and another bold bid looks likely from James Eustace’s charge. Universal Effect debuts on the surface having won at Chelmsford last year but Little India has yet to win anywhere and drops down in trip while Coolagh Magic and Oud Metha Bridge were both well beaten in the same race at Newcastle.
