In depth

Verdict

Dennick showed plenty of promise on his debut despite looking set ot benefit from the run. Normal improvement along from that first run puts him firmly in the picture here. Similar comments apply to Peter Chapple-Hyam's Prize Fighter, while Gardasee hails from a stable producing winners and will probably prefer this surface to the soft going he has encountered in his two runs to date. The seven-furlong trip should also help matters. Ming Vase finished second over course and distance last time and the form is fair if unspectacular. Of the others, Gardasee is probably better than he has so far shown but was behind Gardasee at Newcastle last time, Chutney Mary is another that improved for the step up in trip last time and has place claims, and Llamadas showed improved form last time but cheekpieces will have to bring about further improvement. Overall, though, we will side with Dennick.
