In depth

Verdict

Samuel Charles resumed winning ways when successful in a handicap at Lingfield over seven furlongs last time, has gone well here before, and gets the vote to follow up dropped into a claimer today, with the main threats rated as Hucking Heat and Rebellious Spirit. The last two mentioned are closely matched on their running in a similar contest here last month where Jim Boyle's gelding had the upper hand and he should do so again today. Alan Berry's Besi has been well held in recent starts over hurdles and is hard to recommend, while Local Poet has not won for the best part of two years and may have to settle for minor honours again. This should not take much winning and Samuel Charles is taken to follow up his recent Lingfield success.
